March 23, 2001, Newsletter Issue #18: An introduction to fathering as a topic, Part 1 of 2.

Tip of the Week

Dad as Coach and Mentor.

The great dads of history and literature are the mentors. The late Nobel Laureate Richard P. Feynman in describing his own father talks almost exclusively about his dad`s ability to mentor himself and his sister.

Mr. Feynman created in his son the inquisitive mind that more than any other has unlocked the secrets of quantum state movement while also leading us, the science readers, on a fascinating voyage of discovery. That`s not bad for a uniform salesman who died more than 50 years ago.

This weeks tip looks at us, the Dad/Coach/Mentor and offers a partial answer to the question "What makes a great dad?"
