Tip of the Week

Be Prepared for a Whirlwind of Organizational Vivaciousness

By this time, I'm sure you have taken my advice and are now doing the brunt of the housework, well, get ready for the whirlwind. The Nesting Phase is when mommy goes on a mission to prepare for the baby. It's quite normal and please do not laugh at the seemingly outlandish organizational things she does. Just smile go about your merry, calm way and only assist if she asks for it. She probably will not solicit or want your assistance though. Every woman is different and therefore the Nesting Phase is different as well. She might organize all of the baby shower gifts into specific bins with labels. She might make an inventory list by specific items and highlight inventory deficiencies. She may even reorganize every closet and cabinet in the house for no apparent reason.

You never know what to expect until it happens.

Don't expect her to start doing every chore again; she's not going to take out the garbage for you. At least not if you are doing your job fast enough. Think about this phase and try to picture, if you can, the nursery not being completed? Do yourself a huge favor and get'er done before she hits this phase - usually around twenty-eight to thirty-two weeks gestation
